Mark Todd will be final Olympic eventer to start at Greenwich

Zara Tindall (née Phillips) is a British event rider who has won European and world individual gold medals.
She is also The Queen’s granddaughter.
Zara’s date of birth is 15 May 1981.
Zara was a young rider individual silver medallist in 2002 on Toytown and went on make a stunning debut at senior championship level when she became individual European champion on the same horse at Blenheim Horse Trials in 2005, leading the Brits to team gold.
A year later, she piloted Toytown to individual gold and team silver at the World Equestrian Games in Aachen, Germany.
She was crowned BBC Sports Personality of the Year that December.
Toytown’s final championship appearance was at the 2007 European Championships in Pratoni del Vivaro, Italy, where he and Zara finished sixth and were part of the gold medal-winning British team.
Toytown was put down on Tuesday 27 June 2017, at the age of 24.
High Kingdom was Zara’s next championship horse. The pair’s impressive performance at London 2012 helped the British team to secure a silver team medal.
Zara successfully returned to the saddle after having her first child in time to win team silver at the 2014 World Equestrian Games in Caen, France, with High Kingdom.
Zara has been second at five-star level three times. She made a splash on her debut at the level in 2003 when she finished second at Burghley Horse Trials with Toytown. The pair achieved the same placing at Luhmühlen Horse Trials in 2005.
Ten years after her five-star debut, in 2013, she finished second at Luhmühlen on High Kingdom.
She was also third at the Kentucky Three-Day Event in 2017 on High Kingdom, before he retired from the sport in 2018.
Zara’s current top horse is Class Affair. Zara had a fall from him at Burghley 2019, the horse’s five-star debut, but the pair completed the Maryland 5 Star in the autumn of 2021.
Zara is the daughter of two successful British eventers.
Her mother is the Princess Royal, who was European eventing champion at Burghley Horse Trials in 1971 on Doublet.
Her father is Captain Mark Phillips, won Badminton Horse Trials four times (1971 and 1972 on Great Ovation, 1974 on Columbus and 1981 on Lincoln) and Burghley in 1973 on Maid Marion. He also won five championship medals including Olympic team gold in 1972 in Munich on Great Ovation.
Zara is The Queen’s granddaughter. Her mother, the Princess Royal (Anne), is The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh’s second child and only daughter.
Zara married rugby star Mike Tindall on 30 July 2011 at the Canongate Kirk on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh.
Zara gave birth to her first daughter Mia in January 2014 and her second, Lena, in June 2018. Her son Lucas joined the family in March 2021.
