Welsh ponies
One of the British native breeds, the Welsh pony has four ‘sections’ which are primarily distinguished by height, and also by variations in type. They are: Welsh Mountain Pony (Section A), Welsh Pony of riding type (Section B), Welsh Pony of Cob Type (Section C), Welsh Cob (Section D)
Welsh ponies and cobs in all sections are known for their good temperament, hardiness, and free-moving action.
One of the biggest shows in the calender for Welsh pony riders and breeders alike is the Royal Welsh, held annually at the showground in Llanelwedd.
