Eventer Izzy Taylor to race at Goodwood
The all-female line-up for the six furlong charity race will be raising money for the charity Amref Health Africa
Izzy Taylor is a professional event rider who has proven herself repeatedly at the top level. She is based on her family farm near Banbury in Oxfordshire.
Izzy has had a prolific eventing career since a young age. She won team silver and individual bronze at the 2004 young rider European eventing Championships riding Flurry Knox.
The mother of two was first selected to represent her country at senior championship level in 2013 when she rode KBIS Briarlands Matilda at the European Championships in Malmö, Sweden.
She also represented Britain at the Europeans at Blair Castle in Scotland in 2015 where she finished sixth with Briarlands Matilda and at the Europeans in Avenches, Switzerland in 2021, where she landed 10th place on Monkeying Around.
Other notable results include winning the British open in 2021 on Monkeying Around, winning Bramham CCI4*-L with the same horse in 2022, seventh twice at Burghley in 2012 and 2014 with KBIS Briarlands Matilda and eighth at Badminton 2015 with Allercombe Ellie.
Izzy Taylor has had more than her fair share of bad luck through horse injury – she was selected for the 2014 World Equestrian Games, the 2015 Blair Europeans and the 2016 Rio Olympics with Allercombe Ellie, but the mare was withdrawn on all three occasions due to injuries.
