Henry de Bromhead
Henry de Bromhead (born 28 October 1972) is an Irish racehorse trainer, predominantly training National Hunt (jump) horses.
He is based at his stables in Knockeen, Co. Waterford, in Ireland.
He commenced racehorse training in 2000, having taken over the family stable from his father, Harry de Bromhead.
Prior to this, he spent time learning his trade with National Hunt trainers Robert and Sally Alner and Flat trainer Sir Mark Prescott, for whom Henry was assistant at Sir Mark’s yard in Newmarket. Henry also worked at Coolmore Stud.
Henry won his first Grade One race as a trainer in 2008 when Sizing Europe won the Irish Champion Hurdle and since then has gone on to have success in Ireland and the UK.
His major successes include the Grand National in 2021, three Queen Mother Champion Chase wins, with Sizing Europe in 2011, Special Tiara in 2017 and Put The Kettle On in 2021.
His current stable jockey is Rachael Blackmore, with whom he has teamed up with to help produce top, unbeaten racing mare Honeysuckle to win two Cheltenham Festival Champion Hurdle victories in 2020 and 2021.
