Annabella Pidgley
Annabella Pidgley is a British dressage rider who has won several individual medals at junior European Championships, and is considered to be one of the UK’s most exciting upcoming talents.
Who are Annabella Pidgley’s parents?
Annabella was born in November 2004. She is the daughter of the late Tony Pidgley, co-founder of the Berkeley Group and major equestrian supporter and benefactor, who died unexpectedly in 2020 aged 72. Her mother Sarah is a dressage rider and judge.

Annabella and her mother Sarah Pidgley are based at Kilbees Farm in Berkshire, home to an impressive stable yard and equestrian facilities.
Annabella currently attends Wellington College and is studying for the international baccalaureate in maths, latin, sport science, business, psychology and English.
What are her best achievements?
Despite her young age, Annabella has already achieved a lot in her dressage career, including competing extensively for Britain in pony and junior ranks.
Her successes to date include double individual silver at the 2021 junior Europeans with Sultans Des Paluds FRH, individual silver and bronze at the 2022 junior Europeans with Espe and winning the 2022 national inter II championship with Gio.
Who are Annabella Pidgley’s horses?
Annabella boasts an enviable string of horses. These include her two junior European medallists, the 12-year-old gelding Sultan Des Paluds FRH and eight-year-old mare Espe.
Her most famous equine partner is Gio, the 11-year-old gelding whom Charlotte Dujardin partnered to Olympic and European Championship medals in 2021, before he was sold to the Pidgley family in October last year.
This autumn, Annabella has also taken over the ride on Vamos Amigos, the 10-year-old gelding who partnered Denmark’s Cathrine Dufour to team gold at the World Championships in August.
