The ranges of arena surfaces are developed meticulously under extremely controlled conditions enabling Equestrian Surfaces to achieve the same consistency in each product every time. Equestrian Surfaces constantly strives to ensure it is competitive on price, whilst retaining the excellence for which our surfaces have become world renowned.
Surface options range from pre-mixed waxed surfaces to synthetic surface additives that appeal to all budgets and disciplines. We offer full installations or supply-only options .
This year Equestrian Surfaces continue its long-standing and successful relationship with the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials. Equestrian Surfaces supplied and installed the 60mx40m outdoor arena in 2006 with Cushion Track Classic to provide both horse and rider with the best possible warm-up surface.
This year, for the first time, Equestrian Surfaces will be exhibiting at Burghley, so do go and see them at the show.
What riders say
European dressage rider Gareth Hughes has been the proud owner of Cushion Track Classic on his indoor school for the last 3 years and has been so impressed that he recently resurfaced his 60mx20m outdoor arena, along with two turnout pens. These enhance the facilities at Hughes Dressage no end and will assist in the development and training of their talented dressage horses.
Equestrian Surfaces has also worked alongside Astrid Bolton with the development of new riding surfaces, with the importance of the horse as the key factor. With the help of Astrid, Equestrian Surfaces was able to manufacture a “never before seen” surface, specifically manufactured for the art of breaking and producing world-class horses.
“Originally we had sand and fibre in the pen; it got beyond workable, the dust being so bad at times we had to stop backing the horses,” says Astrid. “I spoke to Equestrian Surfaces — ideally I wanted a surface that was low maintenance, dust free with no irrigation needed and one which would protect the riders when they inevitably fall off.
“Equestrian Surfaces came to me with some suggestions and ideas to achieve this. I have to admit I was sceptical to start, but I am now amazed at how well it works. In all my years in horses I can honestly say I have never had a surface that performs with the same consistency as mine.”
More recently the company has undertaken works with Robin Dumas, World Class performance coach at Rosamund Green Farm. Robin has one of the leading facilities in the UK, with people from all disciplines and standards using his fantastic facilities to train their horses. Equestrian Surfaces has also had the pleasure of working closely with Ben Hobday recently, and we are looking forward to a great future working together.
“Running shows for the British Eventing and British Dressage, our surfaces need to be in superb condition to cope with the vast amount of traffic,” says Richard Mitford Slade of Pontispool Equestrian. “The stabilising fibres have drastically improved our old sand and rubber school into a top-quality riding surface”.
Equestrian Surfaces strives to improve surfaces for the needs of clients and horse, but also wants to achieve the best standards possible within the industry. With the help of existing customers and new sponsored riders we are achieving new goals each year, and hope for these to continue.
