Wind forces Arena UK to cancel shows

  • Arena UK has been forced to cancel this weekend’s show jumping competitions after suffering damage to the roof of the indoor arena in the recent high winds.

The centre was scheduled to run Trailblazer jumping during the morning on Saturday 20 and affiliated jumping on Saturday afternoon and all day on Sunday 21 January.

Srah Watson, Arena UK’s general manager, told H&H: “We’ve had a bit of a disaster. The wind has blown the Nursery Marquee over the indoor arena roof and made a big hole in it. We are going to have to cancel this weekend’s shows.”

Medstead Grange EC was another victim of the winds and had to cancel it’s Equistro JAS competition on Sunday 21 January after suffering structural damage to the indoor school.
