Weston Lawns junior premier show jumping show

  • James Smith won the Junior Show Jumper of the Year qualifier at Weston Lawns in style on Mr Nice Guy.

Last-drawn Claire Bailey opted for accuracy to land second spot on Midwest Star. The third ticket went to 14-year-old Roberta Roe and New York Spritzer.

Just five of the 78 ponies chasing the three HOYS tickets reached the final phase in the 138cm class. Abbi Griffin produced an early clear with Solcum Donatella to win. She also finished third with Jasperoo. Stephanie Gunn’s speedy four-fault opener on Dylasau Derior took second place.

Amy Inglis produced the sole triple clear on Tamango in the HOYS 128cm qualifier, ahead of Cameron Thompson, who finished second on Helen Sullivan’s Pielview Conker. Jessica Mendoza was third on Spring Disney.

Scarlett Ward headed the Squibb and Davies Junior Foxhunter second round with Salvador IV. Kerry Brennan finished second on Falaza.
