Tim Stockdale’s Corlato suffers serious tendon injury in Calgary

  • Tim Stockdale’s ride Fresh Direct Corlato will be flown home from Calgary, Canada today.

John Bosher’s 12-year-old mare sustained a serious tendon injury during competition at Spruce Meadows on Wednesday.

A disappointed Tim strongly refuted rumors that she had been injured on the plane on the way over, stating: “I would never have competed her if she had been lame.

“She jumped clear in the first round of the grand prix qualifier, but two strides after the last fence she pulled up lame.

“At the moment, we are focusing on getting her home; once she is back we can look for the best way forward in terms of her care and treatment.

“Unfortunately it is a serious injury and so I think we are looking at about a year for her to recover fully.”

Corlato and Tim were part of the British team at the Beijing Olympic Games last year and last month’s European Championships at Windsor.
