British Showjumping member banned

  • The mother of a young showjumper has been ordered to pay nearly £7,000 and banned from British Showjumping (BS) for 5 years.

Louise Gallagher, from Newbury, Berkshire, is mother of pony rider Chloe. A disciplinary panel hearing on 8 May found that Mrs Gallagher “defaulted on fees owing to affiliated show centres on numerous occasions” in respect of entry and stabling payments.

She was also found to have submitted a Joint Measurement Board (JMB) height certificate for Brookwater Our Patch and Fragola, which BS has been informed are not authentic.

The disciplinary panel found the case to be of the “most serious nature”.

Mrs Gallagher was suspended from all rights and privileges of membership of BS with immediate effect for 5 years and ordered to pay costs of £6,707.90.
