Robert Smith out of WEG

  • Robert Smith has been forced to withdraw from the World Equestrian Games in Aachen. Smith was due to compete in the speed competition of the show jumping championships today but his ride, Di and Pennie Cornish’s Marius Claudius has sustained a small injury since his arrival in Germany.

After three days of veterinary treatment the horse is not considered fit enough to compete, and Nick Skelton and Lisa Hales’ 11-year-old grey stallion Russel have been moved into the team.
