Nick Skelton heads British Nations Cup team in Dublin


  • Olympic gold medal-winning showjumper Nick Skelton will be back in action this Friday (17 August) on the Nations Cup squad at Dublin.

    The competition is the final in the Nations Cup series and will take place at Dublin Horse Show (15-19 August)

    Nick has been put on the squad with Beverley Widdowson’s 11-year-old gelding Carlo 273. Ms Widdowson also owns Nick’s Olympic ride Big Star.

    Joining Nick on the squad will be Olympic reserve Tina Fletcher and Hello Sailor, William Funnell and Billy Angelo, Robert Smith and Voila and John Whitaker and Argento. Four of the five will jump on the team.

    The competition is the last of the eight five-star Nations Cup competition. Team GBR go into the final round in third place on the league table – behind Germany and France.

    The Nations Cup will start at 3pm.
