Emma Shaw emerged with the £1,000 purse in the Wessex Vehicle Services 1.40 Grand Prix at The Hand Equestrian Centre’s four-day New Year’s show on Crown Rhodonite, reports Kathryn Pearn. Guy Williams finished second and third with Quito De Lui Z and Quidam.
Jemma Kirk produced a series of wins during the show, culminating in a dominating performance in the Rybank Homes Young Riders’ Grand Prix on her new ride, Perth. Jemma also secured third place with Tosca, while second place went to Nicky Jennings and Larino. Jemma ‘s other wins included the Alkaseltzer 1.20m Grand Prix on S Zermie 3.
Anna Edwards collected a double of wins on Triple Flight and Taz Mania, before snatching the Equicraft 1.10m Grand Prix honours with Sometimes II. The Smart Horseboxes 1m Grand Prix fell to Danielle Farnsworth, on FI Samantha.
Jessica Mendoza emerged triumphant with Charleys Angel II in the 128cm grand prix at the Scottish Junior Sponsors’ show, reports Mark McGowan. Imogen Pinney with Show Me Again finished second.
In the 138cm equivalent, only two combinations returned double clears. Pippa Allen produced a class performance with Strawberry Fair III to beat Shannon Mackenzie and Lakeland Little Star into second place.
A temporary power cut during the 148cm grand prix forced the class to be reschedule for the following day. Pippa Allen claimed her second grand prix victory of the show with Spot The Lady. Second was reigning individual European Champion Daniel Neilson with Micklow Madness on his last day as a junior rider.
