Championship experience: John has represented Britain at international championships on numerous occasions during his glittering career. Among his 20 championships medals are team and individual gold, silver and bronze.
Recent form
John has been conjuring up some impressive performances from his new partner Peppermill since he took over the ride in February. They won the grand prix at San Patrignano in Italy before travelling back to the UK for the Royal International Horse Show. While Peppermill wasn’t firing on all cylinders in the first round of the Nations Cup, when the pressure was on in the second round John produced an incredible clear round to ensure victory for Britain.

Background
John is married to Clare and they have three children; Louise, Robert and Joanne. John suffered a brain aneurism whilst competing in Sweden in December 2000, but made a full recovery following hospital treatment and has returned to competition at the highest level.
