Britain excels in Barcelona


  • Paul Barker and Blue Chip Quinton were runners up in the Grand Prix at CSI2* Barcelona last weekend.

    Barker, from Northallerton, North Yorkshire jumped a double clear round on his mother’s 12 year-old bay gelding, Blue Chip Quinton to finish in second place behind France’s Vanessa Norblin.

    Third place went to another British rider, Robert Bevis from Wrexham, Clwyd. Bevis was riding Ina Clutton’s Connery 9.

    Barker enjoyed a run of success while in Spain. In addition to his second place in the grand prix, he won a jump off class onboard Temple Stud and Amy Small’s Temple Ryefield, a hunting competition with Temple Guess What and a speed class with Blue Chip Quinton.
