Ponies (UK) has been forced to reconsider membership dates following an outcry from members.

The P(UK) board changed the renewal date for 2013 season membership to 1 August at a meeting in December.

P(UK) chairman Davina Whiteman said this was to bring it into line with other showing societies.

But the change meant members qualified for the summer championships (8-11 August) would have to renew their membership before competing.

P(UK) announced on 29 March that it would revert to a rolling year’s membership from the date of joining and will review it for 2014.
