Farewell to palomino and Arab breeder Jane Howell


  • Jane Howell, the inspiration behind the Central Prefix Register and a renowned breeder, died at her home in Ceredigion, Wales on 15 December. She was 91.

    The founder of Kingsettle Stud, Mrs Howell bred many successful palominos and Arabs and was honorary secretary of the British Palomino Society since its early days in the 1950s. She was also a respected judge.

    Ann Langley, director of the British Palomino Society, said: “Jane worked tirelessly for the society throughout her lifetime and will be sorely missed by her many colleagues and friends.”
