New Forest breed stalwart Pam Harvey Richards has died at the age of 86.
Pam, who also played hockey for the south west and was selected to play cricket for England, founded the New Forest Pony Enthusiasts Club with Mary Bryant in the 1980s and was chairman of the New Forest Pony and Cattle Breeding Society, on whose behalf she promoted the breed worldwide.
She founded and organised the Royal Show’s famous native pony pageant and was president of the New Forest Show, at which a tribute was read out last week.
