Farewell to… a pony judge and past NPS president

  • Jennie Seymour, a former president of the National Pony Society (NPS) and highly respected judge, died on 23 November.

Jennie was stud groom for Marguerite de Beaumont at Shalbourne Stud, Wilts, for many years.

After Marguerite’s death, she went to help Betty Skelton at Harroway Stud, from where Jennie produced her own Welsh ponies.

Betty Skelton’s granddaughter Lucinda Sims said she would remember Jennie as a “kind, loyal friend” who “held the NPS very dear to her heart”.

Her funeral is on 11 December at St Michael and All Angels, Shalbourne, at 11am.
