Welcome to our group test of summer breeches. All of the breeches in this group test have been thoroughly tested by former eventer turned para dressage rider Tamsin Addison. Find out what she thought below.
Official description
The My LeMieux Pace Breeches feature a micro-nylon spandex fabric with the signature LeMieux X-Grip knee patches in a multi-layered silicone design to provide security where it’s needed most. The patches are shaped to reduce bulk and allow more comfortable flexion at the knee. They are a truly versatile all-round mid-rise breech suitable for everyday riding with sophisticated design elements that adapt to your every move.
First impressions
When I first saw these breeches I thought they looked very trendy and were to my taste. The fabric felt comfortable to wear. The breeches had lots of pockets including big back pockets with zips, which I love and were handy for my phone.
Overview of performance
The breeches were comfy to ride in, but did tend to slip down without a belt. These are most suitable for cool summer days as the material was quite thick. The grip on the inside of the knees was very effective, which helped me feel safe while jumping.
Likes and dislikes
I loved the design and the pockets, particularly the rear pockets as they had zips on and were ideal for my phone while I was riding – my phone did not fall out once, which is a miracle! Unfortunately I found the material frayed slightly at the top the first time I washed them.
Verdict
I would recommend these to all age groups as they are trendy, comfortable and supportive. They are also good value.
