Owners, trainers and staff in horseracing can now put forward deserving stable staff for this year’s Godolphin Stud and Stable Staff awards.
Nominations are now open for the awards, which recognise the hard work of those behind the scenes in racing, The ninth annual event will be hosted by Clare Balding on Monday 4 March in London.
“Racing relies on the people who are closest to the horses, who look after them, ride them, read their moods and know when they are at their best or — just as importantly — when they’re not,” said Clare. “These awards are the one opportunity racing has of recognising and applauding the stud and stable staff and I’m proud to support them.”
There are six categories — high achiever award, rider/groom award, stud staff award, dedication to racing award, David Nicholson Newcomer award and new for thisyear the administration staff award.
And there is prize money totalling £120,000 across the categories.
And an “employee of the year” selected from the category winners will receive £15,000.
Nominations are open until Friday 11 January 2013.
