Former star of “The Apprentice” James McQuillan has been chosen as one of the lovetheraces.com’s five new “voices”.
The new recruits will join four existing amabassadors to showcase the fun, excitement and social side of racing. The “voices” visit racecourses around the country, detailing their days via blogs, images and video clips on lovethreaces.com, Facebook and Twitter.
James “The Joker” McQuillan, who was evicted in the interview stage on series five of The Apprentice, has long been keen to pursue a career in racing. He first became hooked on the sport at university and does regular stints on Kempton’s in-house TV channel.
Lovetheraces.com was set up by Racing for Change to encourage a broader audience to the sport.
Rod Street from Racing for Change said: “We feel the new ambassadors are an excellent range of people to represent the website. It has always been our intention to refresh the ‘voices’ at the end of each season, ensuring that we continue to bring new ideas and a fresh, modern, approach to the sport.”
Joining James as ambassadors will be singer songwriter Trudi Mosiamo, mother-of-two Karen Thacker, presenter Jono Molloy and student Emily Roome.
