The Cheltenham Festival will be broadcast in high definition (HD) on Channel 4 for the first time this week (15-18 March).
This HD service will also be available for future Channel 4 Racing broadcasts.
There will also be unique added footage from the tethered blimp, sponsored this year by Sportingbet, providing aerial footage of the races.
Denise Large, programme director of Channel 4 Racing, said: “The tethered blimp provides both commentators and viewers with a unique insight into how the race unfolds — this angle shows something from the air that no other single camera can achieve.”
Channel 4 HD can be accessed on a HD television via Freeview HD, Virgin Media HD or Sky HD at 140 Channel 4 HD.
