    What the organisers say

The 2015 Floors Castle Horse Trials welcomes new organisers the Duchess of Roxburghe and Cindy Onslow.

The cross-country courses have been rerouted and redesigned at all levels, with a new water complex, a new course-designer for the BE90/100 tracks — Angus Smales — and a new bank feature fence for novice and above.

Ian Stark designs the novice, open intermediate and international tracks.

Once again we offer free stabling for the FEI horses at Kelso Racecourse and supplemented upper-limit prize-money for FEI, open intermediate and novice classes.

We will increase the size of both jumping arenas. Dressage arenas will remain on the north side of the castle and steps have been taken to improve the ground in the FEI arenas.

Public parking is moving to the far side of the tradestands for easier access to the new water complex and improved safety in the lorry park. Ground conditions remain a priority.

    What the riders say

Dressage & showjumping — “Dressage is held on flat ground with lots of warm-up area.” “Set away from everything, but a long walk from the lorry park for spectators.” “The showjumping is held in a flat arena with the warm-up close beside the arena with enough space.” “Well run with on-the-ball stewards.”

Cross-country — “Well-designed cross-country course and not too hilly.” “A beefy track, but could have more alternatives for tricky fences.”
