Zara Phillips talks about her WEG selection [VIDEO]

  • Former individual world eventing champion Zara Phillips is looking forward to trying to regain her title at the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games (WEG) in Normandy, France.

WEG has been host to some of Zara’s career highlights, including winning individual gold and team silver in Aachen, Germany in 2006 riding Toytown.

This time she will be riding her London 2012 Olympic horse, High Kingdom. It will be her first major competition following the birth of her daughter Mia.

“I think the World Equestrian Games are very important. They are a very tough and great occasion, and it’s a very exciting competition to be involved with,” she says.

And who does Zara think will be challenging Team GBR for the medals?

“The Germans are always strong and the French are on home soil — but everyone has a chance. At the moment you can call anyone I reckon”
