It’s a busy time for eventing ace Zara Phillips — as well as planning her wedding next month, today it has been announced that she’ll be the UK’s London 2012 Olympic ambassador for Samsung.
“I’m very excited about being involved in London 2012 with Samsung,” said Zara. “My role is to encourage everyone to become part of 2012, whatever they do and wherever they are in the UK.
“The thought of taking part in the Olympics is going to be massive, a dream for me and it would certainly be the pinnacle of my career.”
A spokesman for Samsung descibed Zara as “an ideal sportsman” and said her dedication to her sport made her perfect for the role.
As part of the deal, Zara will appear will feature in the company’s marketing and advertising campaigns. And she’s in superstar company — Samsung’s global Olympic ambassador is David Beckham.
