World Equestrian Games 2010 gets speciality license plates

  • Kentucky residents who love horses and horse riding may soon be able to drive around with a speciality license plates on their vehicles in celebration of the 2010 FEI World Equestrian Games.

Organisers of the International Equestrian Federation’s 2010 Games, to be held in Lexington, Kentucky will be producing a license plate to celebrate the occasion.

But at least 900 horse fans must apply by 30 September for the plates to be produced — and if 900 applications and deposits are not submitted to the World Games 2010 Foundation then all fees will be returned.

The FEI World Equestrian Games will be held at Kentucky Horse Park from 25 September – 10 October, and it will be the first time the Games have taken place outside Europe. It will also be the first time that all eight equestrian disciplines will be held together at one site.

The license plates cost $44 and, providing the plates are produced, annual renewal will be $30.

Over 100 applications have already been received.
