Woman dies while riding on beach


  • A 51-year-old woman has died after falling off her horse on a beach in Wales. The police confirmed to H&H she was wearing a riding hat at the time.

    Emergency coastguard and ambulance services were called out to Llangennith beach at about 8.45am on Sunday (27 July).

    South Wales Police were called at 9.11am and the police helicopter recovered the rider’s body.

    A spokesman from the police said: “We can confirm the sudden death of a 51-year-old female. The death is not being treated as suspicious. The coroner has been informed.”

    Llangennith beach is at the northern end of Rhossili Bay and has been named as one of the best surf beaches in the UK.
