The British Equestrian Federation is urging riders to vote for New Lodge RDA (Riding for the Disabled Association) centre, in its bid to win up to £3,000 through the Natwest Community Fund.
New Lodge RDA is a south London stables for young and old riders with special needs and learning difficulties. A team of volunteers currently runs lessons for about 100 riders on 12 horses and ponies.
The Natwest Community Fund offers one prize of £3,000 and two of £1,000 to deserving local causes.
Entries are selected by a regional panel and voted for by anyone with access to a computer.
Hilary Crawford, New Lodge RDA’s manager, says: “If we win the £3,000 it will go towards filling the barn with hay as prices in our area are at an all-time high of £7.25 a bale. If we win a £1,000 award it would help pay for tack and equipment.
Vote online at www.natwest.com/communityfund by entering the New Lodge postcode – SE9 4RW and choosing the Chislehurst branch.
Voting closes tomorrow (26th November). Results will be announced in December.
