University offers free five-week equine nutrition course online

  • A free five-week course in equine nutrition is being offered by the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in Edinburgh.

This online course starts on 28 January and more than 10,000 students have already signed up to participate.

Edinburgh is the first UK university to join the Coursera consortium, an organisation set up by senior academics at Stanford University in California to provide free online undergraduate-level courses.

The equine nutrition course will be led by Dr Jo-Anne Murray and will cover the anatomy and physiology of the equine digestive tract and the dietary management of different kinds of horses and ponies, particularly those with nutrition-related disorders.
