Top National Hunt sire Old Vic has died at the age of 25.
The son of Sadler’s Wells was put down earlier this week (Monday, 21 February) after suffering a bout of colic at Sunnyhill Stud in Co Kildare.
Old Vic was champion sire in 2007-2008. His progeny includes Grand National winners Don’t Push It and Comply Or Die, as well as Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Kicking King.
As a racehorse the Henry Cecil-trained Old Vic won both the Irish and French Derbys in 1989.
