The Donkey Sanctuary makes it into Guinness World Records

  • The Donkey Sanctuary has been named ‘the world’s largest donkey sanctuary‘ in the new Guinness World Records book.

It’s the first time that The Donkey Sanctuary has been listed in the book and recognised for the extensive work it does across the world.

The Donkey Sanctuary was founded in 1969 by Dr Elisabeth Svendsen and has seven farms in the UK.

Suzi Cretney of The Donkey Sanctuary said: “Since 1969 we have provided a sanctuary for over 15,000 donkeys and support projects in 28 countries providing veterinary treatments to sick donkeys and mules.”

The sanctuary is open every day, with free admission. For more information head to www.thedonkeysanctuary.org.uk
