Suspected case of foot-and-mouth in Surrey

  • DEFRA has set up a temporary control zone in Surrey following another suspected case of foot-and-mouth disease.

The three-mile exclusion zone has been set up around Egham in Surrey, 30 miles from the outbreak in August.

A DEFRA spokesman told H&H that test results from the farm are due back later today.
“But we can’t confirm when,” said the spokesman.

DEFRA is expected to release more details on the suspected FMD case, and its implications, later this morning.
