Stallion dies after being slashed in stomach

  • A stallion has died in a suspected knife attack in Hertfordshire.

The Welsh cob received slash wounds to its stomach, while grazing in a field with others in Abbots Langley last week.

A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Police told H&H they were notified by the horse’s owner.

The police are now continuing to investigate the incident that occurred between 6pm on the evening of Friday 12 July and 3.30pm the following day.

A post on the Herts Equine Facebook page, read: “This is likely that this is a one-off incident but there will be an increase in police patrols in our rural communities.”

Anyone with any information should call 101 and quote the crime number C2/13/1368.
