Showjumping elite awarded at annual celebration


  • World number one Scott Brash and his Olympic partner Hello Sanctos picked up one of the top prizes at the British Showjumping (BS) awards held in Birmingham on Tuesday (7 October).

    The pair, who have had a sensational year including winning the London leg of the Longines Global Champions Tour (pictured), were named the international combination of the year.

    The Nations Cup team member award went to Joe Clee for his accomplished performances this summer. He helped the British team finish second in Dublin to escape relegation.

    Joe is based in Belgium and was unable to be at the dinner at the Hilton Metropole, NEC to accept the award in person.

    Nina Barbour was given the British Showjumping award by the BS board. Nina the organiser of Bolesworth International show which held its first CSI*** this year and is holding a CSI**** next year (18-21 June 2015).

    The show gained credit for its stunning venue, great atmosphere and top class action which took place in a brand new arena.

    The other award winners were:

    · Leading pony rider: Alex Gill

    · Leader rider under 21 years on horses: Spencer Roe

    · Top level team grooms: Hannah Berryman, groom to Will Funnell.

    · Coach of the year: Aileen Craig

    · International Stairway League winner: Graham Lovegrove

    · British Breeders award: Ashton Stud for Ursula X11
