Riding club competitor dies at Jersey show


  • A woman has been killed while taking part in a riding club event on Jersey.

    Sally Amy, who was 56, was competing in Jersey Riding Club’s annual show at Six Roads, St Lawrence, on Saturday afternoon (27 April), when her horse slipped and fell jumping a fence.

    Ms Amy suffered fatal crush injuries.

    Lynn Petersen, Chief Executive of the British Horse Society, said: “This is a heart-breaking ending to what should have been an enjoyable day of competition. Our thoughts are with Sally’s family and friends at this tragic time.”
