Richard Davison to share Olympic experiences at Aintree conference

  • British Olympic dressage team captain Richard Davison will be sharing his past Olympic experiences on 16-17 June at Aintree racecourse.

The “Winning Ways” conference – run by the University of Liverpool – will focus on equine performance and health ahead of London 2012.

Richard will be joined by physiologist for the French showjumping team Emmanuelle van Erck, and physiotherapist for the Australian Olympic equestrian team Dr Narelle Stubbs.

Dr Cathy McGowan from the university’s school of veterinary science said: “The conference will provide an opportunity for experts in equine health to collaborate with leading international [Olympic] teams.”

Experts will discuss the training, nutrition and movement of performance horses.

Specialists from the university’s Philip Leverhulme Equine Hospital will present the latest research in equine muscle disease, equine surgery, gastrointestinal and orthopaedic health.
