Redwings merger good news for Scottish rescue horses

  • Rescue horses in Scotland will benefit from extra care as Redwings Horse Sanctuary merges with Scottish horse rescue charity Mountains Animal Sanctuary.

The charity, based near Forfar in Angus, will be renamed Redwings Mountains. It is currently home to 98 rescued horses, ponies and donkeys on 220 acres.

Redwings’ Lynn Cutress said: “The timing is right to expand our horizons over the border and we look forward to being in a position to help even more horses in desperate need.”

Redwings is also in talks to merge with Welsh charity the Society for the Welfare of Horses and Ponies (SWHP) and in the planning stages for a centre in Wales.
