Two new products to help protect your horse from mud this winter have been launched by Equimins — Mud Block Supplement and Mud Slide Lotion.
Mud Block Supplement contains minerals, essential oils, dried herbal extracts and roots. It is designed to support and nourish the skin from inside to out, especially with winter in mind.
“We had been asked to develop a supplement to help keep the skin healthy during the autumn and winter,” said David Willey, managing director of Equimins.
Mud Slide Lotion is the second new addition to the range and is based around pig oil and sulphur.
“The key to keeping horses free from infections caused by the bacteria in the mud is to have a good barrier and a good antibacterial ingredient — and that’s what we have done with Mud Slide Lotion,” explained David.
“Pig oil, or mineral oil, is an extremely good barrier and sulphur has excellent antibacterial properties so they are an excellent combination.”
Mud Block Supplement is available in 600g, 1.2kg and 2.8kg tubs costing from £16.50 for a month’s supply.
