Pony trapped in icy pond in Wales freezes to death

  • A pony has frozen to death in Wales.

The pony was trapped in an icy pond in Bynea near the Loughor Estuary.

According to local reports the pony was one of three equines trapped in the water on Wednesday, 22 December.

The pony was pulled out by police officers but died shortly afterwards.

    The other two animals survived.

A spokesman for Dyfed-Powys Police told local press: “Officers attended, and requested the RSPCA and a vet. Officers managed to pull the pony out of the water, but sadly it was in a bad way, and died.”
