The Dublin Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (DSPCA) is horrified after a pony was left to bleed to death in west Dublin last week.
The two-year-old pony was attacked in a field in Ongar, near Clonsilla in the early hours of Friday (14 May).
Its throat was slashed with a stanley knife.
The DSPCA have labelled the attack “one of the most horrendous animal crimes” it has ever come across.
Members of the public called the DSPCA but the pony was already dead by time inspectors reached it.
