An equine welfare charity is hosting two one-day workshops in May for children in Somerset to learn how to care for a pony.
HorseWorld in Bristol has organised the Caring for a Pony Day to help youngsters aged between five and 15 understand the responsibilities involved in owning a pony.
The workshop will comprise a guided tour of the welfare department at HorseWorld, instruction on how to groom and look after a pony and the opportunity to meet some of the rescue animals.
The workshops take place on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 May from 10am to 4pm, and coincide with National Pet Month (7 April – 7 May).
Admission costs £25 per child or £20 for Junior HorseWorld members. Contact Lisa Wheatley (tel: 01275 893034) or visit www.horseworld.org.uk
