Ponies and cow shot dead as they grazed


  • Two ponies and a cow were shot dead as they grazed in their field in Derbyshire on Saturday (2 July).

    A 52-year-old man was arrested by Derbyshire police and a rifle recovered after the incident at Monk’s Dale, near Tideswell.

    Two other ponies in the same field were unharmed.

    A police spokesman said: “We are looking into the motives behind this senseless act, but I would like to reassure members of the local community that this is an isolated incident.”
