Police are investigating after a horse was found dead in a field in Greater Manchester. It is thought he may have been frightened by fireworks.
Twenty-two-year-old Duke was found dead in his field on Cedar Avenue, Stalybridge on 26 October. His rug was ripped and tatty.
Two days later his fieldmate, Shamrock, was found in a distressed state – with his rug covered in burn marks and rips.
Fireworks wrappers and a burnt taper were also found in the field.
Police told H&H a thorough investigation is underway.
