Pick up the BETA guide to riding holidays in Britain

  • With the weather improving a rider’s thoughts turn to hacking, so it’s the perfect time for the British Equestrian Trade Association (BETA) to release its revised and updated BETA Guide to Riding Holidays in Great Britain.

The glossy, A5 publication contains all the key contacts and information needed for booking an equestrian holiday.

It is divided into individual counties, and each entry features key-coded symbols for easy identification of facilities, number of horses, opening times, affiliations and services — including Western riding lessons, carriage driving and showjumping.

The guide also contains contacts for organisations and a list of leading equestrian tour operators.

“Riding holidays are a great opportunity for everyone — whether young or old, complete beginner or someone with plenty of experience in the saddle,” said BETA executive director Claire Williams.

“What better way to enjoy being out in the fresh air, enjoying the breathtaking views, than on horseback.

Copies of the guide can be obtained from local BETA retailers or by contacting Tina Rogers at the BETA office, email tinar@beta-int.com or telephone 01937 587062.
