Sansaw Park in Shropshire has been the host venue of the Pony Club’s National Championships for the last eight years. But increasing demand for flat land has forced the Pony Club to find a new home for the Championships – one of Britain’s largest equestrian events.
“If we didn’t have to move we certainly wouldn’t as we have enjoyed a lovely relationship with Sansaw Park over the past 8 years but we need additional space to fulfill all our plans for the future and in particular we need more flat land,” explained Judy Edwards, Chief Executive of The Pony Club.
Representing a Pony Club branch at the Championships is the pinnacle of any member’s career. Dressage, Show Jumping, Eventing, Polocrosse, Mounted Games and Horse & Pony Care competitions comprise the four-day Championships in August.
The organizers of the championships are seeking enquiries from estates with flat ground in excess of 80 acres with access to a further minimum of 120 varied acres for the cross country course, in an accessible location and with access to piped water.
An existing cross-country course is not a pre-requisite, as The Pony Club is looking particularly for a new site on which to build and develop its own course. If you think you may have a suitable site and would be interested in hosting these prestigious Championships please contact Sarah Foss, PA to the Chief Executive on 024 7669 8300.
