The parasailing donkey that hit headlines last summer has been found a new home.
Anapka who was “rescued” by The Sun newspaper in July will now live at Strely Yarily stables near Moscow.
Last summer there was public outcry from animal lovers and welfare charities globally after the donkey was filmed being hoisted 150ft into the air from a beach in Russia.
The Sun was reported to have paid around £1,500 for the donkey and she is now settled into her new home.
“Anapka is a wonderful donkey and we are proud to have her here,” said Yulia Dobrovolskaya, director of the stables.
“We are looking after her well. The weather is cold now — often below zero — but she is warm in the special red coat given to her as a Christmas present by the Sun.”
