Paralympics get underway


  • P>The equestrian events at the Paralympics begin this week, with the British team of Anne Dunham, Debbie Criddle, Kay Gebbie, Jo Jackson, Lee Pearson, Nicola Tustain and Dianne Tubbs strong contenders for the medals.

    Individual tests take place on 24-26 October and freestyle tests on 27-28 October, with the medal ceremony for the teams at the end of Saturday, 28 October.

    All competitors ride borrowed horses for the event and they have spent this week getting used to their mounts before the competition begins.
