Owners of Baileys feed company buy Badminton Horse Feeds

  • The company that produces Baileys Horse Feeds — Braintree-based FH Nash Ltd — has bought the manufacturers of Badminton Horse Feeds — John Loader (Wessex) Ltd —from Openfield.

Openfield — which specialises in grain marketing and seed and fertiliser supply — had been searching for the right owner for John Loader (Wessex) Ltd for some time.

Openfield managing director, Tim Davies, said: “I am very pleased to have been able to place John Loader (Wessex) Ltd with a company that is totally committed to the animal feed sector and to investing in its future success.”

FH Nash Ltd is the second largest horse feed manufacturer in the UK and intends to continue to run the business as a going concern.

This was a key factor for the Openfield Board in deciding to accept their offer for the company.

FH Nash Ltd managing director, Paul Venner, said: “[This] marries perfectly with our existing business and enables John Loader products to be distributed economically alongside our Baileys Horse Feeds and Fancy Feeds brands.“
