Owners convert horsebox into luxury accommodation

  • The owners of a farm in Banbury have come up with a unique way to make money — renting out a horsebox for £100 a night.

Paul and Anna Ormond bought a 1974 Bedford TK on eBay and lovingly converted it into “The Horse Lorry”, a “unique and romantic” glamping destination.

“Come rain or shine, it’s a unique place to stay,” says the marketing blurb for the lorry, which boasts a “very comfortable king-sized bed elevated above the cab so you can enjoy views over the fields”.

Some decking at the back creates an open-air dining area and the bathroom is a few metres away in a separate tent.

For a small extra charge, a full English breakfast — including freshly laid duck or chicken eggs — will be delivered to the lorry door.

    Sounds like home from home.
